Job Description:
Education / Training
• ACGME or AOA accredited Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency.
• FM Hospitalists must have either:
o 1-year Hospitalist Fellowship, or
o 100 inpatient encounters within the last 12 months.
Board Certification
• BE/BC Internal Medicine or Family Medicine through ABIM, ABFM, or AOA.
• Facility accepts:
o ABIM
o ABFM
o BE Internal Medicine
o BE Family Medicine
• Alternative boards (ABPS): No.
Clinical Experience
• 24 inpatient encounters as attending physician within the past 12 months, or residency/fellowship completed within the previous 12 months.
• Reappointment requires 24 inpatient encounters over 24 months.
• FM Hospitalists require 100 inpatient encounters in the previous 12 months (or Hospitalist Fellowship).
Licensure
• Active unrestricted Ohio medical license or IMLC eligible.
• DEA with Ohio address.
• Schedules II-V required.
Certifications
• ACLS required.
• BLS required.
Practice Setting
• Open ICU: Yes.
• Must be comfortable with:
o Intubation
o Central line placement
o Arterial line placement
Staffing Model
• 36 MDDO providers.
• 10 NPPA providers.
Shift Coverage
• Physician shifts: 7a-7p and 7p-7a.
• Seeking day round and nocturnists.
• No call requirement.
Patient Volume / Census
• Annual volume: 20,100.
• Approximately 55 encounters per day.
• 5-6 admissions per night.
Beds Covered
• 25 hospital beds.
• Open ICU.

• Paragon.
Backup/Specialty Support
• Gastroenterology
• Pulmonology
• Cardiology
• Infectious Disease
• Surgery
• Nephrology
• TeleStroke
• Urology
• OB/GYN

Immunizations
• Flu vaccine required.
• MMR
• Varicella
• Hepatitis B/immunity
• TB screening within 12 months
Credentialing
• Active Ohio license or IMLC preferred to proceed.
• Privileging timeframe: 90-120 days.
• Orientation and EMR training required.
• FBI and Ohio BCI background checks required.
• Three references required, including one clinical reference.
• Professional liability verification for previous 5 years.
