Aya Locums is seeking an experienced OB Hospitalist to provide ongoing coverage at a well-supported Virginia hospital. This opportunity offers a manageable delivery volume, 24-hour in-house coverage, access to extensive specialty support, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in maternal care while working alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Assignment Details
• Start Date: August 2026
• Coverage Type: 24-Hour In-House Call
• Shift Schedule: Seven (7) consecutive 24-hour shifts
• Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• Shift Types: Days, Nights, and Weekends as Scheduled

Clinical Responsibilities
• Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology – OB Hospitalist
• Procedures: Obstetric procedures and general gynecologic surgery
• Average Volume: Approximately 1–3 deliveries per day, plus occasional ED consultations
• Annual Birth Volume: Approximately 4,500 births per year
• Monthly Delivery Volume: Approximately 375 deliveries per month
• Emergency Coverage: Backup support for unattended deliveries and obstetric emergencies
• ED Responsibilities: Evaluate unassigned gynecology patients only when consultation is requested

Facility & Support
• Practice Setting: Inpatient Hospital-Based OB Program
• NICU: Level III
• Anesthesia Coverage: In-house 24/7 (MD-led with CRNA management)
• High-Risk Transfers: Patients requiring advanced maternal-fetal care are transferred beginning at 22 weeks gestation
• Surgical Assistance: Available for emergent and operative cases
• Specialty Backup Available:
• Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS)
• Urogynecology
• Gynecologic Oncology
• Additional Support Staff:
• Nursing team
• Anesthesia providers
• Surgical first assistants
• Medical students
• Residents
• Patient care leadership

Call Information
• Call Type: 24-Hour In-House Call
• Communication Device: Spectralink phone provided
• Response Requirement: Provider remains onsite during assigned shifts

Requirements
• Board Certification: Required
• Active Virginia License: Required
• OB Hospitalist experience preferred
• Comfortable managing labor and delivery patients, obstetric emergencies, and gynecologic consults in a hospital setting
