Locum Tenens Infectious Disease Physician

Job description

We are seeking an Infectious Disease physician for a long-term inpatient locum tenens assignment in Ohio.

Assignment Details
Start: As soon as credentialed, with priority coverage beginning after October 15
Duration: At least one year
Coverage frequency: Every other weekend
Day shift: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
Overnight call: 5:00 PM–7:00 AM
Final schedule and call responsibilities will be discussed during the interview
Practice setting: Inpatient
Telemedicine coverage may be considered

Responsibilities
Inpatient rounding and Infectious Disease consultations
Approximately 5–10 new and follow-up ID consults per day
Overall daily census of approximately 10–15 patients
Occasional wound center consultations
Collaboration with hospitalists and pharmacy
Minimal antibiotic stewardship responsibility, as the regular ID physician primarily manages the program
Open ICU
Approximately 1% HIV-positive patient population
No procedures required

One Infectious Disease physician per shift
Hospitalist support
Pharmacy support

Requirements
Board Certified in Infectious Disease if more than five years beyond residency or fellowship
Board Eligible candidates considered if within five years of completing training
Active Ohio medical license preferred
IMLC licensing candidates may be considered
Ability to provide inpatient rounding, consultations, and overnight call coverage
