Level III NICUs: 24-Hour Shifts
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced, board-certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join a high-acuity neonatology team serving a premier health system in South Florida. The practitioner will cover a high-volume, Level IV NICU offering advanced modalities (including ECMO, therapeutic hypothermia, and high-frequency ventilation) while rotating across two nearby sister facilities within a 20–30 minute driving radius.
Key Responsibilities & Operational Details
High-Acuity Neonatal Care: Provide direct clinical management for complex neonates in a Level IV regional center and system Level III units.
Cross-Facility Rotation: Rotate among 3 regional hospital units within close proximity (20–30 minutes apart).
Shift Flexibility: Execute a mix of 10/12-hour day shifts and 12/16-hour night shifts at the Level IV facility, alongside 24-hour shifts at the Level III locations.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside attending neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, and dedicated NICU nursing teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
Education: Master’s Degree (MSN) or Doctorate (DNP) in Nursing [Required]
NNP Experience: Minimum 2+ years of current, post-licensure experience as an NNP [Required] (RN experience cannot be substituted)
New Graduates & Locums: Not accepting new graduates or locum tenens candidates.
Licensure & Board Certifications
Board Certification: Active NNP Board Certification (NCC) [Required] (FNP, PNP, or other NP certifications cannot be accepted)
Florida RN/APRN License: Active FL License or willingness to obtain prior to start [Required]
DEA Certification: Must be obtained prior to start date [Required]
NPDB Report: Active National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) Self-Query Report generated within the past 30 days [Required at presentation]
