# Medical Director – Correctional Health Services

## Position Overview

Seeking an experienced **Medical Director – Correctional Health Services** to provide clinical and administrative leadership for a comprehensive correctional healthcare program serving an underserved population.

### Responsibilities

* Direct and coordinate medical services and clinical operations.
* Provide clinical oversight for adult and women's health.
* Supervise physicians and advanced practice providers.
* Develop and implement clinical policies, protocols, and quality initiatives.
* Oversee performance improvement and healthcare quality programs.
* Support recruitment, retention, training, and professional development.
* Collaborate with behavioral health, primary care, specialty, nursing, emergency, and hospital teams.
* Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
* Develop departmental goals, workflows, and operational improvements.
* Promote patient-centered care and address social determinants of health.

### Requirements

* ACGME- or AMA-approved residency – **Required**
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in an appropriate specialty – **Required**
* **5+ years of clinical medicine management experience – Required**
* **Correctional healthcare experience – Required**
* Texas medical license or willingness to obtain within 180 days
* Strong leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
* Professional reference within the past 24 months
* Current NPDB Self-Query Report
* Clean malpractice and licensing history preferred
* Spanish proficiency preferred
