Job Details:

• Locum Tenens opportunity available ASAP on an ongoing basis
• Shift hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the endoscopy unit with an unpaid one-hour lunch break
• Upper endoscopy procedures are approximately 30 minutes; colonoscopy procedures are approximately 30 minutes; combined procedures are approximately 60 minutes
• Most cases are performed with moderate sedation; the physician and nurse administer sedation themselves without anesthesia support — candidates must be comfortable with moderate sedation administration
• Occasional anesthesiology support may be available
• Must be licensed in MD or hold an IMLC license
• Board certification required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Estimated credentialing timeframe is 60-90 days
• Nearest airports: DCA, IAD, BWI
• Required procedural skills include:
• Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, and fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser)
• Small bowel biopsy
• Lower GI endoscopy
• Flexible sigmoidoscopy
• Colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyp
