TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced, Board-Certified physician to serve as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for a well-established Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Charlotte, North Carolina. This executive leadership position offers the opportunity to shape clinical strategy while maintaining an active patient care practice, with approximately 25% administrative leadership and 75% direct patient care.

Leadership Responsibilities
Provide executive oversight of medical services and integrated clinical care
Lead quality improvement (QI) and quality assurance (QA) initiatives across the organization
Develop and oversee provider productivity goals and clinical performance metrics
Establish and maintain clinical policies, protocols, and standards
Oversee provider credentialing, privileging, and peer review processes
Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning and organizational growth
Monitor compliance with federal, state, HRSA, and regulatory requirements
Support Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), FTCA, and other quality initiatives
Participate in budget development and operational planning
Present clinical updates and quality reports to the Board of Directors
Build relationships with community partners, healthcare organizations, and physician groups
Supervise Medical Director, Behavioral Health Director, and Pharmacist

Clinical Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
Promote preventive care and chronic disease management
Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
Support evidence-based, patient-centered care initiatives

Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Board Certified in an appropriate primary care specialty
Active, unrestricted North Carolina medical license
Minimum 5 years of physician experience in a community-based clinical setting
Minimum 3 years of senior physician leadership experience
FQHC experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and provider operations
Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
Athena EMR experience preferred
