Physician - Hospitalist needed in Brattleboro, VT

Job description

-Dates of Coverage: October 2026 and onwards. No limit at this time for a right candidate.
-Looking for 7-10 shifts per month. (12 hr shifts, 7a-7p)
-Schedule: 7-10 shifts per month. Shifts are 12 hours, 7a-7p; In-person stay in the unit/hospital during the shift. Weekend coverage expected.
-Can be broken in 2 blocks.

-Call Coverage: No
-Call Type: In-House
-Call Ratio: NA
-Reason for Coverage: Fill a daytime hospitalist physician staffing need.
-Practice Setting(s): Inpatient/Hospital-Based
-Leadership Position/Required to Teach: No

-Patient Population: 100% Adult inpatient/observation population
-% Outpatient vs Inpatient: 100% in--hospital admissions
-Average # of Patients Per Day: 15-20 patients per day; split patient load and work with the experienced NP on weekdays.
-Trauma Level Designation: Level 3 trauma capabilities.
-Required Duties, Procedures, Skills, etc: Respond to Codes and rapid responses. Ventilator management experience preferred; management of step-down level patients.
-No procedures needed.
-EMR/Documentation: Cerner Community Works

-Additional Notes: Small community hospital. Friendly and supportive nursing staff. Collegial working relationship with ED team and surgeons. Strong Case management team to support discharge process of medial patients. Strong overnight hospitalist MD team.

-Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days (pending timely VT state lincense)
