Nurse Practitioner – Outpatient Cardiology
Location: Adjacent Suburban Area near Boston, MA
Start Date: 6/2026; flexible
Contract Length: 13 weeks; potential ongoing need
Schedule
Monday–Friday
8:00–17:00 (8‑hour shifts)
Day shifts only
No call
Full‑time coverage required
Practice Details
Outpatient cardiology clinic
Adult patient population
Average daily census: 10–12 patients
Approximately 28 hours weekly of direct patient care, remaining time for admin/EMR
EMR: Epic
Team structure: 11 physicians, 5 nurse practitioners
Subspecialty experience in heart failure or arrhythmias is a plus
Types of patients include:
• Blood pressure follow‑ups
• Medication management
• Test result reviews
• Lipid/cholesterol management
Locum will work at a single clinic site
Clinical Scope
Evaluate and manage adult cardiology patients in an outpatient setting
Conduct follow‑ups, interpret labs and cardiac‑related findings
Develop and document care plans within Epic
Coordinate care with cardiology team and other clinic providers
Support efficient patient flow and continuity of care
Requirements
Nurse Practitioner — Cardiology background preferred
Active Massachusetts license required at submission
Board certification required
DEA required
Minimum 1 year cardiology experience
Epic experience preferred but not required
Strong ability to manage a steady outpatient caseload independently
Credentialing
Estimated 90–120‑day credentialing timeframe
Name and NPI required at submission
References may be requested prior to acceptance
Standard onboarding documentation required
