Qualifications
✓ Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
✓ Active New York State Physician Assistant License
✓ Board Certification required
✓ Experience in vascular surgery, vascular medicine, cardiology, or general surgery
✓ RN experience in vascular care will also be considered
✓ Proficiency with EHR systems and cardiac/vascular diagnostics, including EKGs, stress tests, and vascular studies
✓ Knowledge of evidence-based treatment protocols
✓ Strong communication, empathy, teamwork, and adaptability in fast-paced settings

Key Responsibilities
✓ Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including histories and physical examinations, to assess cardiovascular and vascular health
✓ Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including ECGs, stress tests, echocardiograms, vascular ultrasounds, and angiograms
✓ Assist in diagnosing conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and peripheral arterial disease
✓ Formulate, initiate, and manage evidence-based treatment plans under physician supervision
✓ Prescribe medications, provide lifestyle counseling, and coordinate pre- and post-procedural care
✓ First-assist in the operating room or catheterization lab during procedures such as CABG, valve repairs, and vascular bypass
✓ Perform procedures such as wound care, suture removal, arterial line placement, and cardioversion
✓ Manage patients with chronic cardiovascular conditions, monitor treatment response, adjust medications, and assess for complications
✓ Provide continuity of care across hospital admissions, clinic visits, and post-discharge follow-up
✓ Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment options, and preventive strategies
✓ Coordinate care between physicians, specialists, nurses, and rehabilitation services
