LOCUM TENENS PHYSICIAN – INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGY

Day Shifts + On-Call Coverage

POSITION OVERVIEW

A hospital-based cardiology program is seeking a board-certified Interventional Cardiologist for locum tenens coverage. The position involves clinic, inpatient, and call responsibilities, in coordination with other interventional cardiologists.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

Shift Schedule: Clinic Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Call Schedule: Weekday, weekday night, and weekend call; rotated with other providers

Estimated Shifts / Hours: TBD

Average Clinic Volume: 15–18 adult patients per day

Patient Demographics: Adult

CLINICAL SUPPORT

Other interventional cardiologists will be present during locum coverage

Practice setting includes inpatient, outpatient, and clinic responsibilities

Documentation via Cerner (transition to Epic planned 6/2026)

CREDENTIALING

Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60–90 days (shorter if already licensed in Iowa)

Board Certification: Required in Interventional Cardiology

State License: Active Iowa license required (IMLC not accepted)

REQUIREMENTS

Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology

Active Iowa license (IMLC not accepted)

BLS and ACLS certification

Self-query NPDB (within 30 days of presentation)
