Interventional Cardiology Call Coverage in Iowa | Flexible Locum Blocks

Job description

Aya Locums is seeking an Interventional Cardiologist for call-focused coverage in Iowa. Immediate coverage is currently needed September 5-8 and September 24-28, but I am interested in discussing any availability you may be able to offer rather than limiting the conversation to a rigid schedule.

Coverage is shared in rotation with other cardiologists. Weekday call generally runs 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., with weekend coverage running from Friday morning through Monday morning. Callback volume varies, with the client estimating approximately 4-6 hours of interventional callback during some 24-hour call periods. Some general cardiology call coverage may also be included.

The clinical scope includes cardiac catheterization coverage along with general cardiology call responsibilities. Diagnostic catheterization, angioplasty and stenting have been identified by the client, while stress echo, nuclear stress testing, echo interpretation, Holter and event monitoring, TEE and cardioversion are currently being treated as preferred capabilities rather than automatic requirements. I am confirming the exact procedural expectations and am happy to discuss your individual cath lab experience rather than assume every requested skill is mandatory.

Epic is used. An Iowa license is helpful, but physicians eligible through the IMLC can also be considered. Credentialing timing will depend on the physician's file and anticipated start date, with temporary privileges potentially available for clean files.

This may be a good fit for an Interventional Cardiologist who is not looking for a traditional full-time locums schedule but can offer defined call blocks. If the current dates do not align perfectly, I would still welcome the chance to learn what availability you can offer and what would make locums worthwhile for you.
