Interventional Cardiology Clinic + Call in Iowa | Flexible Locum Blocks

Job description

Aya Locums is seeking an Interventional Cardiologist for a mix of clinic, inpatient coverage and call in Iowa. Several coverage blocks are available from November through January, giving physicians the ability to consider a defined block rather than a traditional full-time locums schedule.

Current clinic + call coverage includes November 2-16, November 27-December 11, and December 28-January 11. Additional call-only coverage is needed October 30-November 2, November 26-27, and December 24-28. For some of the call-only dates, the facility may also be able to accommodate clinic + call coverage outside of the actual holidays.

The clinic generally sees approximately 12-15 patients per day, with another 5-10 inpatient rounding or consult patients. Call is shared in rotation with other cardiologists. Callback activity varies, with approximately 4-6 hours of interventional callback during some 24-hour periods, and some General Cardiology call responsibilities may also be included.

The anticipated interventional scope includes diagnostic catheterization, angioplasty and stenting. Additional capabilities including stress echo, nuclear stress testing, echo interpretation, Holter and event monitoring, TEE and cardioversion are preferred and can be discussed based on your individual practice.

Epic is used. Physicians with an active Iowa license are welcome, and qualified IMLC candidates can also be considered for Iowa licensure. Credentialing is estimated at approximately 60 days.
