Interventional Cardiologist Needed in Iowa – Clinic and Call Coverage

Job description

An established cardiology program in West Burlington, Iowa is seeking an Interventional Cardiologist for flexible clinic, inpatient, and call coverage. Providers may select call-only dates or combine clinic and call coverage, with a broad case mix including diagnostic cath, angioplasty, stenting, cardioversions, TEE, stress testing, and cardiac monitoring.

Coverage is needed for the following clinic and call dates:
• October 30–31
• November 1 and 9–15
• January 11–31

Additional weekend call-only dates are also available. Providers interested in combining clinic and call coverage on select call-only dates may be considered, excluding the actual holidays.

Schedule and workload:
• Clinic: approximately 12–15 patients per day
• Inpatient rounding/consults: approximately 5–10 patients per day
• Weekend 24-hour call coverage
• Call-back volume varies; interventional call may involve approximately 4–6 hours of call-back
• General cardiology call coverage may also be required on select days
• Mandatory 0–4 hours of gratis time for 24-hour call
• Providers may not work more than 5 hours of overtime per week

Cases and procedures may include:
• Diagnostic cardiac catheterization
• Angioplasty and stenting
• Stress echocardiography and nuclear stress testing
• Echocardiogram interpretation
• Holter and event monitor readings
• TEE
• Cardioversions

• Credentialing timeframe: approximately 60 days
