About the clinician's workday

The interventional cardiologist will provide comprehensive cardiac care at this Level IV trauma facility using EPIC EMR system. The assignment involves inpatient care and clinic consultations as needed, with an average census of 70-90 patients. The clinician will manage cath lab volume averaging 3-5 cases per day and inpatient load averaging 5 per day, with occasional clinic responsibilities. STEMI call requires 24-hour coverage for emergency cardiac interventions. Required experience includes ischemic heart disease interventions such as PCI, stent placement, and thrombectomy, valve disease procedures including valvuloplasty and percutaneous repair/replacement, congenital heart abnormalities, balloon angioplasty, and use of cutting/laser devices for plaque removal. The locum will serve as the sole clinician with APC support from 8-10 AM and after 3 PM, with additional backup available if urgent situations arise.
