Position Summary
The Clinical Director of the Women Family Center provides both clinical and administrative leadership for a full-service women and children’s unit. This includes a 4-bed LDR and maternal triage, 14-bed postpartum unit, nursery, and a 4-bed pediatric unit. The Director oversees nursing and ancillary staff, ensuring quality care and compliance with regulatory standards.
This role reports directly to hospital leadership and collaborates across departments to drive excellence in maternal and pediatric care. You will be accountable for 24-hour operations, staffing, quality metrics, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all aspects of the Women Family Center
Ensure compliance with JCAHO and other accrediting bodies
Evaluate clinical staff performance and support professional development
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes
Operate within fiscal budgets while optimizing service delivery
Foster a culture of safety, compassion, and evidence-based practice

Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN required)
Current, unencumbered Iowa RN license (or Compact State)
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in women’s or pediatric services
Previous clinical leadership experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing Administration, or Business
Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certifications (Child and Dependent Adult Abuse)
