Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician – Locum Tenens | Texas | January–December 2026
Job description
We are seeking an experienced Board-Certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician for an ongoing locum tenens assignment in Texas. This position offers a consistent one-week-per-month schedule providing both inpatient and outpatient coverage, including call responsibilities.
Assignment Details
Start Date: January 1, 2026
End Date: December 31, 2026
Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours plus call
Schedule: 1 week per month
Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (includes weekday call)
Night Call: 5:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m. weekdays
Weekend Call: 7:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m.
Friday Structure: 7 ultrasound reads and 3 consults before weekend call begins
Setting: Inpatient and outpatient
Practice Details
Patients per shift: 8–10
Support staff: Full support team including clinical and administrative staff
EMR: Epic
Providers requested: 1
Clinical Scope
The provider will manage a range of high-risk obstetric conditions, including but not limited to:
Pregnancy-induced hypertension
Diabetes
Cardiac, pulmonary, renal, and neurological disorders
Autoimmune, hematologic/oncologic, and collagen vascular diseases
VBACs, vaginal breech deliveries, placenta previa/abruption
Multiple gestations
Amniocentesis, cervical cerclage, intrauterine transfusion, multifetal pregnancy reduction, and fetal blood sampling
Requirements
Board Certification: Required (Maternal-Fetal Medicine)
Fellowship: Required
Licensure: Active Texas license or IMLC accepted
DEA: Required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
Credentialing timeframe: 60–90 days
