Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – Medical Oncology (Locum Tenens)
Position Summary
An outpatient cancer center is seeking an experienced Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to provide patient care in a medical oncology clinic setting. The APP will manage oncology patients, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment delivery.

Schedule & Availability Requirements
Clinic Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Coverage Requirement: Minimum of three (3) days per week
Preferred schedules: Monday–Wednesday or Tuesday–Thursday
Weekend Requirements: None
On-Call Requirements: None
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $165–$185 per hour (per hour, no overtime)
Holiday Rate: 1.5× hourly rate, no overtime
Orientation/Training:Paid
Applies per hour of orientation or training beyond the first 8 hours
Malpractice Insurance: Covered
Practice Setting
Setting: Outpatient medical oncology clinic
Clinical Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Completing oncology staging workups
Formulating and initiating chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment plans
Collaborating with radiation oncology (on site) and surgical oncology (off site) as appropriate
Working collaboratively with other NPs and PAs
Providing clinical oversight of treatment delivery and infusion services
Coordinating patient care across regional health systems when necessary
Patient Volume
Patients per Day: Approximately 8–10 per clinic day

Includes malignant and non-malignant hematology cases such as:
Head and neck cancer
Prostate, breast, ovarian, and testicular cancers
Lung cancer
Skin cancer and melanoma
Lymphomas
Liver and colorectal cancer
Sarcoma
Gynecologic cancers
Neuroendocrine tumors
Bladder and kidney cancer
Brain cancer
Pancreatic cancer
Metastatic disease
Non-malignant hematology
Required & Preferred Procedures
Bone marrow biopsy: Experience preferred but not required
EMR
Mosaiq / Meditech
Support Staff
Highly experienced clinical team, including:
2 clinic RNs
4 infusion RNs
1 RN navigator
Radiation oncology team
Dosimetry and radiation therapy staff
Dietitian
Prior authorization specialists
Patient advocate
Financial assistance coordinator
Additional oncology support services
Travel Preferences
Lodging: Preferred hotels
Air Travel: Local preferred but not required
Credentialing Information
Credentialing Timeframe: Dependent upon active state license and DEA
Billing Enrollment: Coverage anticipated for approximately 90 days
Submission Requirements
Board Certification or Board Eligibility: Required
State License or IMLC: Highly preferred
Non-licensed candidates will be considered if willing to obtain licensure
BLS Certification: Required
DEA Registration: Required
Clean Malpractice History: Highly preferred
Availability at Time of Name Clear: Required
- Clinic hours Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Need coverage at least three days per week (Mon - Wed or Tues - Thurs).
