Hematology/Oncology Locum Tenens - One Week Per Month in Alaska

If you like locums but do not want another assignment that expects you onsite every week, this Alaska Hematology/Oncology need is worth a conversation.

The current plan is one consecutive week per month onsite, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with no call. Coverage is expected to begin this fall and continue for approximately six months. There is also a remote inbox component between onsite rotations, although I would rather discuss the actual expectations with you than overstate how much of the assignment can be handled remotely.

The clinical work is primarily outpatient Hematology/Medical Oncology with infusion responsibilities. The physician will care for an adult and geriatric population, generally seeing around 12-16 patients per day, with Epic used for documentation. Hospital and clinic privileges are needed, and both settings are connected within the same overall practice environment.

Bone marrow biopsy experience is listed within the requested clinical scope. The client is also looking for recent Hematology/Medical Oncology case experience appropriate to the privileges being requested.

What makes this one different is the structure. They need meaningful continuity, but they are not asking the physician to relocate or spend every week onsite. For someone who enjoys Alaska, wants predictable monthly rotations and values having part of the ongoing coverage handled remotely, there may be something interesting to build here.

An active Alaska license is currently requested for presentation, and clean credentialing files may allow the process to move more quickly.
