This well-established hospital in Redding, California provides comprehensive oncology and hematology services to the surrounding community. The facility features a dedicated outpatient chemotherapy and infusion center supported by a robust clinical team including RNs, medical assistants, and front office staff.

Opportunity:
Physician - Oncology

Job Details:

  • Provide outpatient chemotherapy and infusion services as the solo physician provider with midlevel provider support for patient flow and orders
  • Handle hospital consults with call coverage required; MD can work directly with ER physician or hospitalist for any admissions
  • Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with weekend call from Friday 5pm to Monday 8am (remote call only)
  • Weekday night call required Monday through Thursday from 5pm to 8am
  • See 15-20 patients per day covering all aspects of diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, and treatment of hematology/oncology patients
  • Provide MD oversight for both the oncology/hematology clinic and infusion services
  • MD must be onsite for all infusion center treatments
  • Infusion center services include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood/platelet transfusions, hormone therapy, antibiotic therapy, rheumatoid arthritis injections, and therapeutic phlebotomies
  • Manage all tumor types across oncology and hematology case mix
  • Utilize iKnowmed EMR for clinic and Cerner for infusion documentation
  • Support staff includes 1 clinic RN, 2 MAs, 2 front office clerks, 1 quality analyst/billing specialist, and 10 infusion RNs
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Hematology and Oncology required
  • Active California medical license required
  • Fellowship required
  • DEA certification required
  • ACLS required only if requesting Moderate Sedation Privileges
  • Must be currently practicing in the field
  • Credentialing timeframe is 30-60 days

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
