Medical Oncology Locum Opportunity

Job description

We are seeking a Board-Certified Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to join a well-supported inpatient oncology team in Minnesota. This role offers a balanced schedule, strong APP support, and manageable call responsibilities.

Schedule & Call
Inpatient Schedule:
8–10 hour days
Week-long rotations (Monday 8am – following Monday 8am; flexible)
Call:
Overnight call from home
Medical oncology-specific calls only
Minimal call volume supported by nurse triage and hospitalists
Outpatient (Optional):
8am–5pm schedule
No required call
Same-day documentation preferred (up to 3 days max)

Practice Details
Setting: Hospital-based inpatient service
Patient Volume: 20–25 patients per day
Clinical Focus:
Malignant and benign oncology
Full spectrum hematology consults

Role Responsibilities:
Lead the medical oncology team
Supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
Manage inpatient census and new consults
Ensure timely, same-day documentation

Requirements
Licensure: Minnesota license or IMLC required
Board Certification: Required in both Oncology and Hematology

Experience:
Strong inpatient malignant oncology experience
Comfortable managing complex hematology consults
