This cancer care center is part of a respected healthcare system providing comprehensive oncology and hematology services to the community. The free-standing cancer center features a collaborative team of 8 physicians and 4 advanced practice providers, utilizing EPIC documentation system to ensure seamless patient care coordination.

Opportunity:
Physician Assistant (PA) - Oncology

Job Details:
• Provide locum coverage in medical oncology at a free-standing cancer center
• Coverage needed ASAP through end of September for additional support
• Manage adult and geriatric patient populations in both outpatient and inpatient settings
• Handle 65% benign hematology and 35% malignant oncology cases
• See average of 15 outpatient encounters and 20 hospital rounding patients per day
• Take first call for patient and hospital phone calls on rotating schedule
• Call schedule: Tuesday 4:30pm-8:00am, Friday 4:30pm-Monday 8:00am
• Perform on-site inpatient rounding on weekends
• Call rotation occurs every 5-6 weeks depending on staffing
• Manage bone marrow transplants, blood bank operations, order tests and imaging
• Prescribe medications and treatments as needed
• Chemotherapy administration handled by nurse oncologist
• Must be board certified in Hematology/Oncology
• Requires active SC license, BLS certification, and DEA registration
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Estimated credentialing timeframe of 60 days
• Travel expenses covered including flight, hotel, rental car, and mileage

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
