The healthcare system maintains established protocols for both inpatient and outpatient oncology care delivery and is staffed by a team-based oncology care model that includes other oncologists and oncology nurse practitioners. The facility is seeking locum tenens coverage to address a current departmental vacancy.

About the clinician's workday

The medical oncologist will provide comprehensive oncology care Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with responsibilities encompassing inpatient rounding and clinic-based patient management. The clinician will manage an average of 15 patients per day across both inpatient and clinic settings, with an average of 10 new consults. Weekend call coverage is required on a 1:3 rotation.
