Coverage Need Details:
• 12 hour or 24 hour shifts available, days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Our current need is for 3 shifts per week.
Candidates Typical Day:
• Dayshift includes evaluating current patients in NICU, rounding with the attendings and NICU team on all patients, attending deliveries, evaluating patients in PEDS or newborn nursery if needed.
• For 24-hour shifts, there is a call room for the providers to sleep overnight.
• Being able to sleep is dependent on the needs of the patients.


Additional Client Notes:
• level III NICU, Complex cases will be transferred to level 4.
• Opening a new NICU next month, we will have 18 beds. The ADC is 10-12 patients.
• NICU APP will attend high risk deliveries. If the APP is busy, the NICU attending will go if in house or the in-house pediatrician.
• APP will response to all infant codes throughout the hospital.
• Respiratory therapy is available onsite 24/7
• The neonatologist is on site during the day approx 8a-4p, they can be called in whenever needed. Response time is typically 10 pts/>8 with vents) will request for 2 APP per shift.


Reporting:
NICU APPs wear hospital OR scrubs (access will be provided), NICU is on 3rd floor near L&D. NICU APP Manager will connect with Locums provider prior to first shift.
