Position Overview
A highly respected regional health system in the Ypsilanti / Ann Arbor, MI market is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) for a permanent role in a Level III NICU. Operating within a collaborative, physician-supervised framework alongside on-staff Neonatologists, the NNP will provide comprehensive inpatient management, resuscitation, stabilization, and ongoing daily care for critically ill and premature newborns.
Key Responsibilities & Clinical Scope
Clinical Management: Conduct daily rounds, physical assessments, and ongoing clinical management for high-risk neonates and premature infants in a Level III NICU.
Physician Collaboration: Work closely with attending Neonatologists under a structured, team-based care plan model.
Multidisciplinary Rounds: Coordinate care plans alongside bedside RNs, respiratory therapists, and specialized pediatric ancillary teams.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation using Epic EMR.
Family Counseling: Deliver compassionate family education, treatment progress updates, and discharge planning.
Stabilization: Support critical stabilization procedures and acute interventions for high-risk deliveries and admissions.
Qualifications & Candidate Requirements
Education & Training
Degree: Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) program [Required]
Experience Level: Open to experienced NNPs as well as New Graduates who are truly Board-Eligible [Required]
Licensure & Certifications
State Licensure: Active, unrestricted Michigan RN & APRN License (or eligible for state licensure prior to start) [Required]
Board Certification: Board Certified as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NCC NNP-BC) prior to start date [Required]
Life Support: Active AHA BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications [Required]
Operational & Legal Requirements
Background & Practice History: Clean malpractice, license, and background history [Required]
Visa Status: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship (Visa candidates not accepted) [Required]
Shift Flexibility: Ability to work a varied shift structure combining 24s, 10s, and 8s [Required]
