Job description
Aya Locums is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for a 26-week locum assignment with the option to extend.
Assignment Details
-Start Date: ASAP
-Contract Length: 26 weeks with option to extend
-Coverage: Scheduled shifts only, no call
-Schedule: 12-hour and 24-hour shifts
-12-hour shifts begin at 7:00 PM
-On-call sleep room is available between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM only if the unit census allows
-Commitment: Minimum of 6–8 shifts per month through January 2027
Practice Setting
-Level III NICU
-36-bed unit featuring 20 single-family rooms and 8 double rooms
-Care for neonates from 23 weeks gestation through term
-Pediatric surgery patients
-Therapeutic hypothermia for HIE patients
-Stabilization and transfer of ECMO and cardiac surgery patients
-Daily multidisciplinary team rounds
Support Staff
-Neonatologists
-Neonatal Nurse Practitioners
-NICU Fellows
-Residents
-Social Workers
Clinical Responsibilities
-Daily patient assessments and documentation
-TPN and feeding calculations
-Patient load typically 10 or fewer, with flexibility during higher census and acuity
Required Skills: Lumbar punctures, Intubations, Line placements (UAC, UVC, PICC, arterial lines), Pleural air removal, Arterial sticks

Requirements
-Active West Virginia RN license
-Advanced Practice recognition by the West Virginia State Board of Registered Professional Nurses
-Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification
-NRP certification
-CP certification
-3–5 years of NNP experience required
Credentialing
Estimated timeframe: Up to 60 days
