Neonatology Physician Assistant needed in Columbus, OH (will license)

NICU APP Locum Opportunity – Columbus, OH
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Start Date: October 2026
Assignment Length: 26 Weeks with Potential for Extension

Schedule
• Full-time coverage
• 3 shifts per week
• Rotating days and nights
• No more than 5 consecutive shifts
• Block scheduling available
• Flexibility with scheduling strongly preferred

Practice Setting
• Level III NICU
• 17-bed unit
• Approximately 1,700 deliveries annually
• Average daily census: 14 patients

Clinical Responsibilities
• Independent NICU coverage
• Typically one APP per shift on both days and nights
• Manage NICU patients in collaboration with available physician and APP resources
• Clinical leadership support available on-site Monday–Friday
• Additional provider support available from neighboring sites

Requirements
• Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant
• Delivery room experience required
• Comfortable practicing independently
Experience with:
• Neonatal intubations
• Umbilical line placement
• Needle thoracentesis
• Lumbar punctures
• High-frequency ventilation
• Preferred Skills
• PICC line placement
• Chest tube placement

Support Staff
• Physician on-call from home
• APP support available at neighboring facilities

Licensure
• Ohio license preferred
• Compact RN license accepted for qualified NNP candidates
• Facility is willing to consider providers who only need to obtain Ohio APRN licensure
• Fully unlicensed candidates will not be considered

Credentialing
• Approximately 3 months
