NICU APP – LOCUM TENENS

We are seeking an experienced NICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for a locum opportunity providing care to infants and neonates in a high-acuity Level IV NICU environment.

POSITION DETAILS

✓ Start Date: November 30, 2026
✓ Contract Length: 13 weeks with the option to extend
✓ Practice Setting: Hospital
✓ Department: NICU
✓ EMR: Epic
✓ NICU Size: 64 beds
✓ Coverage Needed: 5 shifts per month
✓ Shift Length: 12 hours
✓ Primary Need: Night shift coverage
✓ Shift Hours: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
✓ Must be willing to rotate between days, nights, and weekends

PATIENT POPULATION

✓ Infants and neonates
✓ Approximately 8 mixed-acuity patients on day shift
✓ Approximately 20–30 patients on night shift

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

✓ Level IV NICU experience within the past year is required
✓ Must be able to work independently and autonomously
✓ Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience required
✓ Must have neonatal training and experience
✓ High-risk delivery experience required
✓ Intubation experience required
✓ Ventilator management experience required
✓ Central line experience, including PICC, UAC, and UVC, required
✓ Lumbar puncture experience required
✓ Experience supporting high-acuity neonatal patients required
✓ ECMO exposure/support experience preferred; ECMO patients are managed by Fellows

REQUIREMENTS

✓ Board Certification in Neonatology required
✓ Active license will be required by the start date
✓ DEA required
✓ CSR required
✓ Current BLS certification required
✓ Current PALS certification required

CREDENTIALING

✓ Estimated credentialing timeframe: 45–60 days
✓ State licensing may take approximately 8 weeks, so early application is strongly recommended

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NICU APP with recent Level IV NICU experience who is comfortable managing high-acuity neonatal patients independently and is flexible with rotating day, night, and weekend coverage.
