🩺 Job Description: Neonatologist – PRN/Holiday Coverage

Contract Length: ~6 months
Coverage Type: Scheduled shifts, No call

Schedule & Shifts

PRN coverage needed, with priority during the last 2 weeks of December

Flexible: 12-hour (7a–7p or 7p–7a) OR 24-hour shifts

Need 20–30 shifts covered per month across two locations

Clinical Details

Setting: Level III NICU

Census: 22–24 patients

3,500 deliveries annually

Two neonatologists on days; one at night

Some simple surgeries (e.g., hernia repair)

Procedures Required: Intubations, umbilical line placement, resuscitation, NICU management

Technology: Nitric oxide, high-frequency ventilation

EMR: Cerner

Support & Team

Dedicated NICU support staff

2 neonatologists present during daytime, 1 at night

Requirements

Board Certification: Neonatology (MD/DO)

State License: Maryland (required, IMLC not accepted)

Experience: Must have Level III NICU experience within the last 3 years

Certifications: DEA, ATLS, BLS, NRP

Credentialing: 60–90 days (no expedited licensure support)
