This children's hospital is a premier pediatric healthcare facility featuring a high-acuity Level IIIB NICU with 60 beds and approximately 625 annual admissions. The facility is affiliated with a medical school and offers comprehensive neonatal services with advanced therapies, providing an excellent environment for clinical excellence and academic advancement.

Job Details:
• Serve as Practice Medical Director overseeing clinical operations and provider performance in a Level IIIB NICU
• Provide clinical care for 60-bed NICU with approximately 625 annual admissions
• Lead and implement quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Drive clinical innovation and program development within the neonatal service line
• Collaborate with hospital leadership and academic partners to expand neonatal services
• Participate in teaching responsibilities for medical students, pediatric and family medicine residents
• Engage in Grand Rounds, simulation Boot Camps, and educational programming
• Mentor residents in quality improvement and research projects
• Support and grow scholarly and academic initiatives in partnership with the medical school
• Work alongside multidisciplinary pediatric subspecialists including maternal-fetal medicine and pediatric surgery
• Utilize advanced neonatal therapies such as high-frequency ventilation and nitric oxide therapy
• Provide shared neonatal call coverage as part of physician leadership team with rotational 24-hour coverage
• Handle rotational weekend NICU coverage with 24-hour shifts as scheduled
• Must be Board Certified in Neonatology (not accepting board eligible candidates)
• Requires MD or DO degree and Virginia medical license
• Leadership experience in NICU or clinical program development required
• Must be willing to relocate to immediate local area if not already residing there
