This large inpatient hospital provides neonatal-perinatal medicine services with established clinical protocols designed to support quality patient outcomes. The facility maintains appropriate staffing models and clinical resources to accommodate locum tenens clinicians delivering on-site day shift and call coverage. Infrastructure is in place to facilitate effective neonatal care management across all assigned coverage periods.

About the clinician's workday

Clinicians will provide neonatal-perinatal medicine care through 24-hour shifts on an inpatient, on-site basis in Virginia, with in-house presence from approximately 8:00 AM through early afternoon and the remainder of the shift conducted on call. The call model operates at a 1:3 ratio as the team grows, supported by a highly autonomous NNP who assists throughout the coverage period. Each shift is staffed by one Neonatologist and one NNP working collaboratively to manage neonatal patient care. Board certification in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine is required for this locum tenens assignment.
