Neurodevelopmental Disabilities

Part-Time Nurse Case Manager & Home Support for Our Son with Down Syndrome

Job description

About Our Family
We are a couple in our mid seventies, in good health and live on our rural property near Great Falls, Montana. Our Down Syndrome son lives with us and we provide all of his care. He is nonverbal but has an extensive receptive vocabulary and uses an iPad to help him
communicate. Our son is active around the home and enjoys helping with various chores. We are seeking a caring individual to help with his care and to provide a backup to us.
About Our Son
● Age & Personality: He is 36, cheerful and generally easygoing.
● Communication:
○ Primarily nonverbal but has an extensive receptive vocabulary
○ Uses an iPad and gestures to express wants and needs.
● Mobility & Motor Skills:
○ Moves around independently
○ Requires help with fine motor tasks (e.g., brushing teeth, tying shoes, etc).
● Health and Hygiene:
○ General good health.
○ Does not take any prescription drugs.
○ Likes to choose his own clothes and can dress himself independently. He does require supervision, e.g make sure his clothes aren’t backwards.
○ Requires supervision and assistance with hygiene activities.
● Daily Activities:
○ Rises and starts his day independently.
○ Requires a soft-food diet and can eat independently but requires supervision while eating
○ Enjoys regular exercise, such as basketball, ping pong, or using an exercise bike—typically twice a day.
○ Enjoys community outings to concerts, sporting events, and other social gatherings.
Because of his developmental disability, he is never left alone. He’s used to receiving
assistance from us, and we’d appreciate extra help to ensure he continues living a full and
active life.

Please Inquire for all Responsibilities.
