Description
The Surgery Registered Nurse is responsible for the professional nursing care and assistance to patients, surgeons, anesthetists, and non-professional personnel in providing nursing care. Assists with aspects of environmental control, equipment, and supplies. The Surgery Registered Nurse assists with sharing the on-call responsibilities, provides care to patients in the recovery room, and assists with the transfer of patients in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Community Health System.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited College of Nursing. One year of full time experience in a surgical setting preferred. Electronic Health Records experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification
-Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Nebraska.
-Basic Life Support (CPR)
-Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within the first year of employment
-Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within first year of employment
-Trauma Nursing Core Course certification (TNCC) only required if working in the Emergency Department
-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) only required if working in the Emergency Department
-AORN Perioperative 101 required within two years of employment
Valid Driver’s License
