🌟 Nurse Practitioner – Outpatient Neuro-Spine Clinic (Locums Assignment)

Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 4–6 months
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8a–5p (No weekends, no holidays!)
Setting: Outpatient clinic only – no OR, no inpatient

Patient Volume: 20–22 per day (up to 26 if telehealth included)

Population: Adults only

Support Staff: 7 APPs, 5 surgeons, 2 physiatrists, MAs, and patient navigators

Team Environment: APPs handle all outpatient clinical aspects while surgeons/fellows focus on new & pre-op visits

Your Role

Conduct consults and follow-ups independently

Manage post-op visits, imaging orders, medications, wound care, and patient triage

Perform bread-and-butter outpatient procedures (staple/drain removal, wound care)

If experienced: may also do injections (trigger point, hips, knees) – not required

Strictly outpatient only – APPs are not utilized in the OR

Ideal Candidate

2–3 years’ experience in:

Ortho Spine Surgery

Neuro Spine Surgery

Pain Management (spine-focused)

Academic medical center background strongly preferred

Neuro/Neurology experience with spine exposure may be considered

Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced outpatient clinic

Details

EMR: Epic

Coverage Needed: Every week, full-time M–F

Procedures: Outpatient wound care; injections if skilled

Environment: Academic, collaborative, fast-paced, highly team-oriented
