Neurosurgery Spine NP/PA Needed – Outpatient Opportunity in San Francisco, CA
Start Date: July 2026
Contract Length: 6 months with option to extend
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday 8a–5p
No weekends or holidays
Position Highlights:
Strictly outpatient role
No OR time or inpatient coverage
Strong outpatient spine experience required
Academic medical center experience strongly preferred
Comfortable conducting consults independently
Experience in neuro spine, neurosurgery, ortho spine, or pain management required
Work Details:
Join a team of 7 APPs supporting 5 surgeons and 2 physiatrists
APPs manage clinical care including exams, triaging calls, ordering imaging, medications, and follow-up care
MAs and patient navigators assist with scheduling and administrative support
Average 20–22 patients/day in clinic; telehealth days may increase volume to approximately 26 patients/day
Adult patient population only
APPs primarily manage post-op and follow-up visits
EMR: Epic
Procedures:
Staple removal
Drain removal
Wound care
Trigger point, hip, or knee injection experience is a plus but not required
Requirements:
Minimum 2–3 years of spine-related experience in ortho spine, neuro spine, neurosurgery, or pain management
Neurology providers may be considered if they have strong spine experience
Active CA NP license required; open to PA licensing
DEA with Schedule II required
BLS required
