Neurosurgery NP/PA Opportunity – San Francisco, CA
Start Date: 07/27/2026
Assignment Length: 26 Weeks with option to extend or transition to permanent

Schedule

* Full-time coverage needed
* Monday – Friday
* 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
* 5x8 schedule

Practice Setting

* Inpatient and outpatient hospital setting
* Adult patient population
* EMR: Epic

Position Details

Provider will support both inpatient and outpatient neurosurgery services.

Outpatient responsibilities include:

* Managing post-operative patients
* Case management
* Ordering imaging and diagnostic scans

Inpatient responsibilities include:

* Managing brain tumor and neurosurgical patients
* Neuro ICU coverage
* Meningioma and other high-acuity neurological conditions
* Caring for transferred patients from outside facilities

Special Procedures

* Pulling drains
* Training available for EVD drain removal if needed

Patient Volume

* Daily census varies from 8–20 patients depending on facility volume and transfers

Requirements

* Active California license required
* California DEA with Schedule II authority required
* BLS certification required

For Nurse Practitioners:

* ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC required

For Physician Assistants:

* Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies required

Experience Required

* Minimum 1–2 years of neurosurgery or complex surgical floor experience required
* Neuro ICU experience may also be considered

Credentialing Timeline

* Approximately 45–60 days
