Neurosurgery NP/PA – Crani/Skull Surgery | San Francisco, CA:

⏳ Contract: 6 months (26 weeks)
🗓 Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (5x8 preferred; 4x10 may be considered), No Call

Join one of the nation's leading academic medical centers supporting a specialized skull base/crani neurosurgery team. This role is approximately 75% inpatient and 25% outpatient, providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative care for adult neurosurgical patients.

Responsibilities
Manage pre- and post-operative neurosurgery patients
Round on inpatient neurosurgery patients
Conduct post-op outpatient follow-up visits
Respond to patient messages alongside the RN team
Assist attendings during clinic procedures as needed
Perform procedures including:
Drain removal
Lumbar punctures
Suture removal
Shunt adjustments/fixes
No OR time or first assist responsibilities
Requirements
Board Certified PA
Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC)
Active California NP license - CAN HELP LICENSE PAs
Active California DEA (full schedules required)
1–2+ years of recent inpatient neurosurgery experience
Strong inpatient neurosurgery and pre/post-operative care experience required
Skull base/crani surgical experience strongly preferred
Epic experience
Comfortable working in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Patient Volume: 8–12 adult patients/day
