Job description
Billings Clinic is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with substantial neurosurgery experience for a locum tenens assignment focused on inpatient care only. This position is designed for providers with strong neurocritical care and post-op management skills, ready to support a busy neurosurgical service.
This role includes no call and no OR responsibilities. Providers will work on a 7 on / 7 off schedule from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, covering MICU, SICU, and ED consults for both cranial and spinal neurosurgical patients.
Assignment Details:
- Start Date: ASAP | End Date: Ongoing
- Setting: Inpatient only
- Schedule: 7 on / 7 off | 6:30 AM–6:30 PM
- Patients/Shift: 10 (assigned/unassigned)
- Beds in Department: 10
- EMR: Cerner
- Stroke Certified | Trauma Level 1
Responsibilities:
- Round on cranial and spinal post-operative neurosurgical patients
- Manage neurocritical care cases in ICU
- Collaborate with neurosurgery team (7 surgeons)
- Respond to consults from the ED
Requirements:
- NP or PA with neurosurgery experience (internal medicine-focused candidates not considered)
- Board eligible or board certified
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Fellowship preferred but not required
- No hospital admissions required
- Must obtain hospital/surgery center privileges (no temp privileges available)
- Credentialing timeline: ~90 days
