Job description
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Neurosurgery APP to join a growing neurosurgical team in South Carolina. This role offers a combination of clinic coverage, inpatient rounding, procedural responsibilities, and shared call coverage alongside an established team of neurosurgeons and support staff.
Schedule
10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM) or 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Monday–Friday coverage
Rounding required prior to clinic
Patients scheduled from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
One weeknight call and one weekend day call during assigned call weeks
Practice Setting
Hospital and clinic-based Neurosurgery practice
Adult patient population
EMR: Epic
Collaborative team environment with 6 Neurosurgeons
Clinical Responsibilities
Outpatient clinic coverage
Inpatient rounding and patient management
Neurosurgical consults and follow-up care
Pre- and post-operative patient management
Participation in shared call coverage
Procedural Experience Required
Candidates should be comfortable in an inpatient/acute care neurosurgical setting and have experience with:
Lumbar punctures
Lumbar drain placement and management
External ventricular drain (EVD) placement
ICP monitor placement
Diagnostic and therapeutic taps
Suturing and wound management
Surgical care of complex wounds
Support Structure
6 Neurosurgeons
Registered Nurse support
4 Medical Assistants
Typically 1–2 physicians in clinic daily
Dedicated APP support throughout the week
Requirements
Board Certified APP with Neurosurgery experience
Active South Carolina license required
Clean background required
Strong neurosurgical procedural experience preferred
Ability to work independently in both clinic and inpatient environments
Credentialing
Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60–90 days
Facility willing to license qualified candidates
