Position Overview

Inpatient-only Neurosurgery coverage
12-hour shifts: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (days) or 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (nights)
Nights and weekends coverage required
No call responsibilities
Hospital-based practice with Epic EMR

Clinical Setting

Inpatient neurosurgery service
Patient mix: ~90% adults, ~10% pediatric cases
Variable daily patient volume
Strong emphasis on acute and surgical inpatient management

Clinical Responsibilities

Inpatient neurosurgical care and rounding
Management of acute surgical and neurological conditions
Collaboration with neurosurgery and hospital teams
Participation in ER and inpatient consults as needed
Support for mental health/psych-related inpatient presentations when applicable
Surgical patient management across pre- and post-operative phases

Required Clinical Skills
Candidates must be comfortable managing inpatient/acute care scenarios, including:

Neurosurgical inpatient care
Emergency department and acute care exposure
Mental health/psychiatric inpatient considerations
Surgical patient management

Procedural Exposure (Preferred)

Pediatric neurosurgical exposure (not required)

Requirements

Board Certified Neurosurgery APP (required)
Active South Carolina license required
Minimum 1 year experience in neurosurgery or acute care setting
BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required
DEA required
Clean background required
