Trauma Neurosurgery PA Needed in Oakland, CA (will license)

Start: December

26 week assignment

4x10/every week, shifts are 7a-5p, sometimes shifts can go longer depending on the case/census/busy-ness

Work Details:
• Support staff: M-TH there are 2 other APPs on site, Fri is 1 other APP, and Sat-Sun they will be solo APP. There are attendings and RNs available.
• Amount of coverage needed per month: full time, 4x10/every week
• Patients per day: IP census: 8-15 pts/day. OP census: around 20 pts/day, split with attending.
• Patient population/age:
• Department description: APPs are utilized for inpatient coverage, outpatient clinic coverage, and operating room assistance. There’s a lot of neuro-trauma cases.

• EMR: epic
• Special procedures: APP must remove surgical drains. Other bedside procedures are done with attending
• Skills required: Must have neuro-trauma experience. Must have inpatient and outpatient experience.
• Will they need to first assist? Not a hard requirement, but preferred. NPs must have RNFA if looking to first-assist

Practice Setting:
• Hospital

Requirements:
• Board Certification: n/a NP
• License required: Yes, CA for NP. We can license for PAs
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS
• Minimum experience required:
• Minimum 1-2 years of neurosurgery experience
Must have both inpatient and outpatient experience
MUST have level 1 trauma exp
• Neuro trauma experience required
