Neurosurgery Physician – Clinic + Call | Ongoing Locum Opportunity

Job description

A well-established acute care hospital is seeking a Board-Certified Neurosurgeon for an ongoing locum tenens assignment. This role offers a balanced mix of clinic, operative time, and call coverage within a collaborative, team-based environment.

Position Highlights
Ongoing, long-term coverage need
One week per month of combined clinic, OR, and call responsibilities
Predictable scheduling structure with consistent monthly coverage
Opportunity to work within a Level II trauma environment

Schedule & Call
One week of coverage per month (7 consecutive days)
Week includes:
5 days of clinic and/or OR time
Weeknight call and weekend call coverage
Beeper call with 20-minute response time
Call volume includes several consults and callbacks per week

Practice Setting
Acute care hospital with both adult and pediatric patient populations
Collaborative team including:
Neurosurgeons
Advanced Practice Providers
Nursing and clinical support staff
Utilizes Cerner EMR and advanced surgical/navigation technology

Clinical Responsibilities
Outpatient clinic visits (approximately 10 patients per day)
Surgical cases (up to 3 per day on OR days)
Management of urgent and emergent neurosurgical cases
Inpatient consults and rounding while on call
Exposure to a broad range of neurosurgical conditions across all ages

Requirements
Board Certified in Neurosurgery (ABNS/ABMS)
Active state medical license (or willingness to obtain)
DEA required
Comfortable managing both elective and urgent neurosurgical cases
Ability to work independently within a call rotation
