Neurosurgery Locum – Alaska-Will license and quick credentialing

Position Overview:
Seeking a Board-Certified Neurosurgeon for an ongoing locum opportunity in Alaska. Provider will join a collaborative team supporting a Level II trauma center serving both adult and pediatric populations. This role includes a mix of clinic, OR, and call coverage.

Assignment Details:

Start: Ongoing need
Schedule: 1 week per month (7 consecutive days)
Includes 5 days of clinic/OR + call coverage
Call:
24/7 beeper call during assigned week
20-minute response time required
Callbacks: a few per week
~2–3 consults per night while on call
Travel: Covered

Practice Setting:

Level II Trauma Center (Adults & Pediatrics)
Clinic: ~10 patients per day
OR: Up to 3 cases per day
Urgent cases: ~2–3 per week
EMR/Tech: Cerner, Sectra, Medtronic StealthStation

Team Structure:

2 Neurosurgeons (0.75 FTE each)
2 APPs
Support staff includes nursing, schedulers, and CMAs

Requirements:

Board Certified (ABNS/ABMS)
Active license (AK temp license available in ~6–8 weeks)
Full vaccination required (including COVID)
