Job Title: Neurosurgeon – Locum Tenens
Location: Eureka, CA
Duration: Ongoing (specific coverage blocks listed below)
Schedule:
Standard schedule
Weekday clinic + daytime call: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Night call: 5:00 PM – 8:30 AM
Weekend coverage: 24‑hour call
Guaranteed 8 hours per day
Overtime applies after 9 hours per day (must be approved)
Providers may not be in clinic all 5 weekdays during listed blocks, but should be available

June 1–8
July 3–10
July 20–27
August 17–24
September 21–28
October 26 – November 2
November 9–16
December 21–28
December 28 – January 4, 2027
Additional dates may be offered

On-Call Requirements:
Yes — weekday night call and 24‑hour weekend call required
Daytime call responsibilities included during clinic hours

Board Certification Required: Yes (Board Certified or truly Board Eligible within 3–5 years of residency)
Setting: Acute Care Hospital (Inpatient and Outpatient)
Patient Population: Adults
EMR: Epic
Support Staff:
Medical Assistant
1 PA or NP
Average 5 patients per shift

Credentialing Timeframe: 60–90 days (temporary privileges may be considered once file is complete)
Procedures Include:
General adult neurosurgery
Trauma neurosurgery (Trauma Level III)
Spinal surgery with instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar)
Spinal surgery without instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar)
Placement of ICP monitors
Complex spine cases
Inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical care
