Neurosurgery Physician – Locum Tenens | California $350-$400/hr

Job description

We are seeking 1–2 Board‑Certified Neurosurgery Physicians for ongoing locum tenens coverage in California. This assignment includes scheduled clinical hours plus call and offers a mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities at a Level III trauma center.
Assignment Details

Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours plus call
Assignment Length: Ongoing (additional dates forthcoming)
Providers Needed: 1–2
Patient Population: Adults
Patients per Day: Approximately 5
Trauma Level: Level III
EMR: Epic
Support Staff: Yes

Coverage Dates (Initial)

April 30 at 8:30a – May 5 at 8:30a
(May 1 at 8:30a start may be considered; April 30 start preferred)
June 1 at 8:30a – June 8 at 8:30a
Additional dates to be offered

Schedule & Call Structure

Weekdays:

Clinic and call coverage from 8:30a – 5:00p
Call responsibility during daytime hours included while in clinic


Night Call:

5:00p – 8:30a the following day


Weekends:

24‑hour call coverage


Providers may not be in clinic all five weekdays, though it is possible during coverage stints.

Clinical Scope & Skills Required

General adult neurosurgery
Trauma neurosurgery
Spine surgery with and without instrumentation

Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar


Placement of ICP monitors

Practice Setting

Inpatient and Outpatient

Provider Requirements

Board Certified in Neurosurgery
Active California medical license required (only CA‑licensed candidates accepted)
Active DEA required
Active Fluoroscopy certification required
Minimum 2 years of current hospital‑based clinical activity in neurosurgery

Credentialing

Estimated timeframe: 60–90 days
