Board Certified - Neurological Surgery
Job Details:
- Locum Tenens opportunity providing inpatient and outpatient neurosurgery coverage with both clinic and call responsibilities
- Dates of need: 11/21 - 12/9 and 12/27 - 1/6, with potential for ongoing coverage
- Clinic hours Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, with weeknight beeper call from 5:00pm - 8:30am
- 24-hour weekend beeper call coverage required
- Approximately 5 patient encounters per shift
- Guaranteed 8 hours per day with overtime applicable after 9 hours per day
- Must have an active California license - no IMLC accepted
- Board Certified required; Board Eligible within 3-5 years of residency may be considered
- DEA registration required
- FLUORO certification required (temporary FLUORO certification is acceptable)
- Must submit 100 cases within the past 24 months specific to privileges being requested during the privileging process
- All specialties require 2 years of current hospital clinical activity; gaps greater than 3 months must be explained
- Current case logs must be included upon presentation for surgical specialties
- Will see complex spine cases; no airway certifications required
- Required skills include: General Adult Neurosurgery, Trauma, Spinal Surgery with and without instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar), and Placement of ICP Monitors
- Preferred skills include: Tumor cases, VP Shunt, and Application of External Traction
- Estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days
- Long-term lodging budget available up to $3,500 per month if required
- Updated CV with all hospital affiliations must be submitted at time of presentation
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
