Locum Neurosurgeon Needed for Clinic and Call Coverage in Northern California

Aya Locums is seeking a board-certified or truly board-eligible neurosurgeon to provide clinic and call coverage at an acute care hospital in Northern California.

Current coverage dates are November 21 through December 9, 2026, and December 27, 2026, through January 6, 2027.

The physician will be in clinic on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by overnight beeper call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. Weekend coverage consists of 24-hour beeper call. The physician may not be called into the hospital every day but must remain available when scheduled.

This is an adult Level III trauma hospital. The incoming physician should be comfortable managing complex spine cases. No airway certification is required.

An active California medical license and DEA are required. Fluoroscopy certification is also required, although temporary certification may be accepted. Board certification is preferred, and truly board-eligible physicians within three to five years of completing residency may be considered. Recent case logs supporting the requested privileges will be needed.

The listed dates represent the facility’s ideal coverage plan. Neurosurgeons available for only one block or another workable portion of the schedule are still encouraged to respond.
