We are seeking an experienced Adult Neurosurgeon for a long-term locum tenens opportunity providing 24-hour trauma call coverage at a Level II Trauma Center in Santa Paula, California.

This is an excellent opportunity for a neurosurgeon looking for intermittent, long-term coverage without clinic responsibilities.

Coverage: 24-hour beeper call
Schedule: Approximately 1 week of coverage every 1–2 months
No clinic responsibilities
Coverage primarily provides time off for the facility's full-time neurosurgeon
Approximately 3–4 callback cases per week
2 hours gratis during call
Clinical Focus

This position is heavily focused on adult cranial and spine trauma. Most calls originate from the Emergency Department or surgical service.

Providers should be comfortable managing:

Adult neurosurgical trauma
Cranial trauma
Spine trauma and injuries
High cervical trauma/injuries
Neurosurgical ICU patients
Emergent operative trauma cases
Ideal Background
Current or recent Level I and/or Level II trauma call experience
Significant hands-on adult neurosurgical trauma experience
Strong cranial and spine trauma background
Comfortable independently managing emergent neurosurgical cases
Experience caring for critically ill neurosurgical patients in the ICU

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced trauma neurosurgeon seeking intermittent 24-hour call coverage without a clinic commitment. With approximately one week needed every 1–2 months, this assignment can work well alongside an existing practice or other locums commitments.
