Position Overview
Seeking a Board-Certified Neurosurgeon for an urgent coverage need at a Level II Trauma Center in Jacksonville, Florida. This assignment offers a streamlined schedule with defined 12-hour shifts, strong hospital support, and the opportunity to focus on bread-and-butter neurosurgery cases in a trauma setting.
Assignment Details
• Initial coverage dates begin June 2026
• Additional future dates may become available
• Open to providers with later availability to begin credentialing now
• Temporary privileges available for qualified candidates
Schedule
• 12-hour shifts only
○ Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
○ Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• No 24-hour call
• Structured handoff model allows providers to fully sign out at shift end
• Flexible mix of day and night coverage based on provider availability
Practice Setting
• Level II Trauma Center
• General neurosurgery coverage in a trauma environment
• EMR: Meditech
• Strong inpatient and hospital support structure
Clinical Scope
• General neurosurgery cases
• Trauma-focused coverage
• No complex skull base, pituitary, or CPA cases required
Requirements
• Board-Certified Neurosurgeon
• Active medical license required
• Active DEA required
• Clean background and malpractice history required
• HCA credentialing strongly preferred for expedited onboarding
