Locums Opportunity Neurosurgery/Neurointerventional Physician

Job description

Seeking dually trained Neurosurgery and Neurointerventional/Stroke physicians for locum coverage. This is a unique opportunity to work with a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center actively pursuing Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification, supported by advanced facilities and technology.


🧠 Opportunity Highlights:

Dually trained candidates only (Neurosurgery + Neurointerventional)

Trauma call only for ED neurosurgical consults

Avg. 6–10 consults; call volume varies depending on acuity and inpatient service load

Stroke Interventions required

Approx. 1,000 strokes/TIA annually

State-of-the-art bi-plane OR suites available for neuroendovascular procedures

Average 4 days of coverage per month (based on PTO, CME, and call rotation needs)

No midlevel support

EMR: eClinicalWorks

🎯 Candidate Requirements:

Board Certified or Board Eligible

Must be dually trained in Neurosurgery and Neurointervention

Active South Carolina license or ability to obtain one

Prior experience in high-acuity stroke/trauma environments preferred
